Energy harvesting technology, which generates the output electric power from ambient, otherwise wasted, energy sources, has been explored
toward providing a solution that could ultimately eliminate the replacement cost of the chemical batteries found in wireless sensor nodes.
Piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting (PVEH) is recognized as a promising solution for converting vibration energy into usable electricity,
because it has high energy density and can be easily miniaturized for use in wireless sensor nodes.
Now, a question of fundamental importance arises how to preliminary estimate the output electric power generated by a PVEH device
under a given vibration condition and identify the key design parameters to carry out the enhanced output performances.
It is thus strongly required to build a highly-predictive model to elucidate the electroelastic behaviors of a PVEH device in an explicit manner.
This paper provides deterministic, stochastic, probabilistic modeling approaches for the analysis of PVEH....
