Title: Unmanned Vehicle Advanced Research Center Human Machine Interface(HMI) Research Status

Considering the level of autonomy of unmanned vehicles and human limitations of the operator, Human Machine Interface(HMI) technology that enables the operator to perform efficient and safe missions is being developed. The HMI project of Unmanned Vehicle Advanced Research Center(UVARC) has two main tasks: 1. Virtual and augmented reality application for unmanned vehicle operating system to expand real-time precision operation capability of unmanned vehicle at an invisibly long distance 2. Intuitive unmanned vehicle interface and operation technology taking into account for human biological limitations during the operation of unmanned vehicle. The research includes AR/VR implementation to Ground Control System(GCS), simultaneous multi-operator supporting platform, multimodal command recognition, multimodal haptic feedback, operator-friendly portable operating system, and situation awareness system etc. Current research progress of the HMI project will be shared in the seminar.
