Abstract: Over the course of 3.5 billion years of evolution, living organisms have developed numerous functional structures. Notable examples include the superhydrophobic surfaces of micro/nano-structured leaves, the non-reflective surfaces of moth eyes, and the highly sensitive sensory organs of spiders. Understanding and mimicking these functional structures can enable the development of high-performance materials and sensors. Our research group has focused on the fabrication processes of micro/nano-scale bio-mimetic structures and their application in the production of functional materials and sensor devices. In particular, this presentation will showcase various micro/nano fabrication processes, such as MEMS fabrication and electrospinning, and highlight the research conducted on diverse functional structures and wearable sensor devices.
