보행 속도 및 보행 환경 변화에 강인한 웨어러블 로봇의 보행 위상 인식 기술

The global population is aging due to increasing life expectancy and declining birthrates. The
proportion of the elderly aged 65 and over in Korea was 18.4% of the total population in ’23 and
is expected to continue to increase to 7.68 million by ’50, reaching 43.9% of the total population
by ’60. Muscle loss due to aging causes a significant decline in walking function, which leads to
chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia due to decreased
body metabolism, and catastrophic injuries such as fractures from falls. In this presentation, I will
introduce Moonwalk, an AI-based wearable walking assist robot developed by the KIST that can
assist the aging lower limbs in walking by simply wearing it on the lower limbs.
