The Center for 3D Advanced Additive Manufacturing Research (3D AM Center) aims to develop industrial application technologies of ‘Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)’ for major industries in Korea and Ulsan.
With the concept of DfAM (the use of new materials, multi-scale Finite Element Analysis (FEA)-based design optimization, AM process optimization in 3D printing, reliability of AM processes and products), the center supports to industrial collaborative research and business development of AM technology toward the 4th industrial revolution. |

Once established in July 2014 under the name of CAPs (Center for Advanced Pseudo-Satellite), the research center was renamed to CAMS Center for Autonomous unmanned Monitoring Systems on February 2019 to contribute to environmental safety, development of new local industries, and fostering global high-quality human resources in related fields in Ulsan, via advanced research in autonomous unmanned systems, environmental monitoring sensors, and disaster prevention.
The main research field consists of environmental sensors and robots, autonomous unmanned systems, advanced materials and processing, thermal and fluid analysis, environmental and disaster management. The research center has been selected as a university-focused research institute for science and engineering designated by the Ministry of Education in 2020. |
